I've never found out who was the 'they' who seems to know more about our lives than we do but am sure that most progress has been achieved by people who couldn't wait.
Patience is good. Impatience is good.
We can't be satisfied with the status quo. We need to progress. It could be a curse but that's what we do. So we must change what we don't like. Though, it's more often in ourselves that we need to change. For changing others, or being impatient with their faults (which are often similar to ours) is a pure waste of time. We are not their path nor are they ours. Sometimes these paths cross but more often than not, they barely touch each other.
Life is a mixture of patience and impatience. We're impatient to reach maturity and, once there, we're more patient with death (let it take its time.) We're impatient with loved ones and patient with strangers (still haven't figured that one out.) We're impatient with things we can't control and patient (sometimes even procrastinating) with those we can.
The balance between the two, as always, is where most of life resides.
