Friends

Life would be empty without friends, yet they can make it more difficult...

Try living without any and you'll find life meaningless in no time.

Friends can come in heartbeat and take years to leave you. They can also take years to become one and disappear in a heartbeat. That's why they should be sought, treasured and helped when they need you.

This is the secret of friendship. It's one of the hardest thing you'll do in life. For to be filled with friends, you have to be one.

And that mean letting go of yourself, letting your petty needs behind for their sake. It's easier said than done for we see life from our point of view at all times. Everything evolves around us and we often create the life we want (or deserve ; ) It's not about annihilating yourself for others though. Ascetics don't really have friends (could be wrong there.) You have to be yourself and be able to change and adapt to the world around you. If you're a jerk (and you might not see it so this is irrelevant), your friends will reflect you (if you have any left.) If you're too nice, they might abuse you. If you're too interesting, the might feel threatened (in this case, change you friends for better ones ; )

Whatever the case, to be a friend is a lifestyle, a choice, a mission.

Hi fred
read your posting about friends and I absolutely agree with you. Friends can be a bane or a boon. Most times it is a boon. Some friends can be a real pain. Most of my friends who have been with me since uni are good friends only because we have been through some rough patches. They say you can make new friends but not have the same memories.
